Judith Howard Bowen passed away peacefully at sunrise on November 13, 2022 with her husband and son by her side. She was the daughter of Marvin and Agnes Howard of Wilson, NC. Judy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mac Bowen of Clayton; son, Brent Bowen and daughter-in-law, Kelly, of Durham; aunt, Edith Thompson of Wilson and grand dogs, Tween and Willow.
Judy attended Fike High School and the Bowen’s were married on September 15, 1961 in Wilson. After a brief move to Kannapolis, NC, they settled in Clayton in 1974 where they have resided ever since. Judy was a stay at home Mom, raising Brent who she loved dearly. Judy was a loving and supportive wife, and had many friends, many of whom she met through Mac’s passion for bowling. She enjoyed trips to the beach and mountains. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. Plans are in the works for a celebration of life at a later date. Donations can be made to the Wilson Disease Association (wilsondisease.org).
