John Henry Grady

CLAYTON – John “Jack” Henry Grady, age 80, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Wake Med in Raleigh.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at Knollwood Cemetery with Chaplain Jesse O’Neal officiating.

He was a native of Wayne County and the son of the late Herman Grady and the late Tessie Holland Grady. John was a retired mechanic and enjoyed working on cars, watching old westerns and Nascar, listening to gospel and old country music, spending time with family, being outside and playing with his puppies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Valston, Monty, Glenn, Alston, Pat; sister, Geraldine; son, Mickey.

He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Dillahunt (Jeremy), Julie Cauthren (Derick), Mary Helen Jones (Larry); grandchildren: Zackery, Madyson, Mahalee, Melana, Dorothy, Katie and Moriah; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Massey (Staley) and many nieces and nephews.
