James Earle McFarland, 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. James was born December 25, 1940 in Chesterfield, SC, to the late Henry William and Mae Belle Webster McFarland. James was a hard worker with strong work ethics. He started his career in Raleigh working for Dillion Supply Company where he worked in the machine shop for 17 years until the machine shop closed. He then moved on to other companies such as EDS Boiler Repair Company, Tom O’Quinn Rigging Service and finally retired from Southern Industrial. He was a huge NASCAR fan and faithfully watched every race he could when it was race season. He loved NASCAR, but not near as much as he loved his family. James was a good man who always wanted to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. He was an exceptional father who loved his daughter unconditionally and this was the one job he would not have traded for anything. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 2pm, in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US 70 Business Highway West, Clayton, NC 27520.
