He was born in Clayton, North Carolina in 1969 to James Craig Edgerton and Linda Sue Tucker Edgerton who knew from the moment he was born, he was something special.
When he wasn’t tinkering in the yard, he was working endlessly to support all of those around him, whether it was through his lawn care services or handy-man hands or just by being a friend to those who needed one. He was a man of few words but showed his love for Christ through his service to others, never expecting anything in return. He was so talented and could fix or do anything. He had a lot of ingenuity earning the nickname, “Macgyver”. He loved his Dodge vehicles and riding his motorcycle.
His big smile and cute dimples would light up any room he walked into. He loved scary movies, strong coffee, and being with his family and precious fur babies. With his playful and joking nature, there were never dull moments when he was around. Whether he was blowing an airhorn to get your attention or sneaking up from behind to scare you, Andy’s playful nature always made others smile.
Andy was preceded in death by his doting grandparents James and Annie Belle Edgerton, Lacy Tucker, Dorothy and Leon Sasser; Aunt Ann Baker; and his Uncle Jack Edgerton.
Andy met his soul mate and wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Edgerton at age 20. They were married in 1993 and shared their love for each other for more than 30 years. Andy was a loving husband to Liz, a proud father of his children Lacey Edgerton and Dakota “Alex” (Gabby) Edgerton, and caring son to his parents Craig and Linda Sue Edgerton. He loved his mama. He was a great son-in-law to James Leborn (Lebo) and Barbara Jean Raynor. He loved all of his brother in-laws, sister in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
His celebration of life will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC. Visitation will immediately follow. While flowers are welcomed, and should be sent to McLaurin Funeral Home, donations can be made in honor of Andy to a nonprofit organization of your choice.
