Harriet Horne Kenan, passed away at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 76. Harriet was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 23, 1948, to the late Henry and Elizabeth Spaulding Horne.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Darius L. Kenan of Clayton; three daughters, Tyresse Horne and her husband, Francois Waelbroeck of Austin, TX, Corella Horne and Leroy Durham of Raleigh, Danielle K. Midgette and her husband, Dwight of Durham; and bonus son, Leadell Smith of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Cortland J. Alphonse, Darius L. Durham, Samrawit Waelbroeck, and Markos Waelbroeck.
The Horne and Kenan family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the ICU floor at UNC Hospital of Clayton and SECU UNC Hospice House of Smithfield for the care of our loved one.
