I belonged to the choir at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, New York when Doris also joined around 1959. I noticed her beautiful face and asked her for a date. She said yes, and so began our relationship. Within a year, we got married. We had so many things in common. We shared the same belief in God and we were willing to get involved. I taught Sunday School and she did office work for the Sunday School. I found the best wife in the whole world. We prayed together and trusted one another. We never had a big fight. What a woman she was,  as you can see in the words her children and grandchildren wrote about her. I love and miss her very much.

Nobody loves you like your mom. My mother was the most wonderful mother anyone could ask for. She prayed for me for decades, and helped me with every problem I came to her with, without ever complaining. She cooked and baked and wrapped all those Christmas presents for years and years. I love you mom, I will never forget you and I can't wait to see you in heaven.

Thanks for everything that you have done. You were one of the most caring and loving people I knew and I'm so glad I got to call you my grandmother. I will love and miss you forever. Love kenny jr.

Thank you so much for allowing me to call you my Mema for as long as I was able to. You were a huge part of my life and had a very deep impact on my character as a person from the very beginning. You reminded us all to be better people and to live our lives with joy rather than sorrow always. As we are all sad to say our time with you has come to an end in our earthly lives everyone is very proud to say we will all be reunited again someday. There are no words to convey how much I will miss my Mom. I am truly blessed to have had her in my life and to be able to call her my mother. A true lady, honest, upright, faithful, loving and kind. Lots of wonderful memories from my childhood include my Aunt Doris, along with her sister Elsie,my mom. They were a close, and beloved pair. I now miss them both.
