A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
Cary was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 26, 1958 to the late James Edward Chandler and the late Marjorie Parrish Chandler. He graduated from Northwest Guilford High School in 1976 and spent 25 years working for UPS.
Currently, Cary was the land development manager for RRT Development…he loved his job and the second family he gained while working there. He also acquired his North Carolina General Contractor’s License over 20 years ago.
Cary was considered a master craftsman and “jack of all trades.” His ability to conquer any project and tackle any job never ceased to amaze his family and friends. His knowledge was endless, and he gave 110% to every job he ever had. If you looked up the word “perfectionist” in the dictionary, Cary’s picture would be right there.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Vanessa Chandler; his son Jackson Chandler of the home, his daughter and son-in law Kimberly and Joe Etheridge of Greensboro, NC; his grandchildren Austin Etheridge, Greyson Etheridge, and Adalyn Etheridge all of Greensboro, NC; his brother James Edward (Ed) Chandler II and wife Gladys of Clayton, NC; and two sisters Susan Lamb of Morehead City, NC and Patty Adams of Bullock, NC.
Online condolences may be made to the family at: www.mclaurinatpinecrest.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.
McLaurin Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Chandler family.
