Albert “Bert” Tennyson Barrett, 81, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21st at 10am at First Baptist Church with Dr. Mark White officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Bert was born on February 17, 1937, in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Albert Tennyson, Jr. and Mildred Bessie Slater Barrett. Bert was proud to have served his country in the US Navy. He worked for IBM for more than 30 years.
Bert is survived by his wife, Sandra Jordan Barrett; son, Stephen Barrett and wife, Nancy Barrett; daughter, Michelle Parrish and husband James Parrish ; grandchildren; Jessica Parrish, Megan Parrish, Rhett Barrett, Lexi Barrett, and Tennyson Barrett whom is due in Feb 2019; and his sister Bryna Barnes.
The family will receive friends on Thursday September 20th at McLaurin Funeral Home from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St. Clayton NC.
