Shirley Darling Tyler, 97, passed away on May 4, 2023 in Circleville, Ohio. She was formerly from Wappingers Falls, NY and Bellingham, MA. Shirley was born on June 11, 1925 in Bellingham, MA the daughter of Fred S. and Gladys (Howes) Darling. She was preceded in death by a sister, her parents, her husband, Clifford M. Tyler, and brother and sisters in law, David, Irene, and Pat Darling.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Sheryl (Joe) Forte, and son Jim (Sue) Tyler. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jonathan (Candice) Forte, Matthew (Krista) Forte, Heather (Brian) Maffia and Jessica (Tom) Van Ness; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother Warren Darling.
She was a member of the Nathaniel Massie Chapter DAR, Goodtime Quilters, Community UMC, and the Pickaway County Senior Center. Shirley enjoyed spending time with family, and supporting them in their many activities. Knitting and reading were her hobbies along with bingo, cards, and dominoes with her Wyngate friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home. A graveside service in Woonsocket, RI will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
