Bill was born to Charles and Blanche Teeter in Nebraska where he lived until he joined the Marines in 1945. He served in World War II as an Infantry Soldier. After War World II, Bill was sent to China to guard warehouses, until he retired from the service.
Bill's family worked on farms where he soon met the farmer’s daughter and the love of his life Bonnie, they soon married after in 1948, raising 2 sons Wayne and Darrell Teeter. Bill and Bonnie soon moved to Madera starting a dairy business for a few years. After, Bill went to work at Dairyland School where he worked as a custodian and a bus driver for the next 40 years until he retired. He thought he could sit around and enjoy life but found out he couldn't and went back to work as a handyman working on cars and farm equipment for the next 20 years.
Some of Bills favorite things to do in life was taking the kids fishing, he never enjoyed fishing, but he loved to watch the kid’s fish. His biggest passion square dancing with his wife Bonnie, but when the kids started sports in high school, he was their games. Bill also owned a ski boat and enjoyed water skiing with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Wayne and Darrell Teeter, his brother David Teeter, and sister Mary Teeter. His grandchildren, Seth Peress-Teeter (Lauren), Abra Peress-Teeter, Jenny Chilcoat and Amy Teeter. He also leaves behind 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Franklin Teeter and Blanche Ellen (Gronquist) Teeter, his sister Beth Teeter and brother Paul Teeter.
A Celebration of Life Service for Bill will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 10:30 at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
