Robert Alfred Cederlof, age 90 of Chowchilla California passed away peacefully one day shy of his 91st birthday on Sunday December 11, 2022. Robert was born on December 12, 1931, to Bertel and Rose Cederlof in Richmond California. Bob and parents moved several times in the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Joaquin Valley, before settling in Madera California. Bob attended elementary school in Madera and graduated from Madera High School in 1951.
Bob married his beloved wife Norma Lee Holmes on May 2, 1953. They enjoyed life together for 63 years before Norma’s passing in 2016. Bob worked for the Madera Winery for a short time. He then went to work for PG&E in 1957 in Fresno California and transferred to the Chowchilla PG&E office in 1967. Bob and Norma raised their children providing support with all their school activities. During this time Bob and Norma helped with the high school marching band that Rhonda and Brian were involved with during the 1970’s. They traveled with the band to the All-Western Band Review in Long Beach California for 12 years. Bob was also involved with the Chowchilla Spring Festival, where he had several duties, chairman three times and in charge of the Chowchilla Parade twice. Bob’s favorite part of the festival was helping with the BBQ. During this time Bob continued to work for PG&E and retired after 36 years with the company in 1992.
After Bob retired, he and Norma enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home. During their travels, they would visit their daughter Rhonda and her family in Utah. They would also visit Brian and his family in Oakhurst. Along the way they would visit the nearest Casino, where Bob and Norma loved to gamble.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bertel and Rose Cederlof, wife Norma and brother Raymond. Bob is survived by his sister Marjorie Chrisco, Donald (Carla) Cederlof.
He is also survived by his two children, Rhonda (Frank) Stewart and Brian (Christie) Cederlof. Grandchildren Jeremy (Linda) Cederlof, Nicholas (Brynn) Stewart, Scott Cederlof, Justin (Sarah) Stewart, Heather (Caleb) Annin, Ryan (Kayli) Stewart and James (Christopher) Cederlof-Rincon. Great grandchildren Ben and Lana Cederlof, Ayla and Kaia Annin, Alexander and Zoey Stewart, Hudson Stewart, Hazel and Graham Stewart.
The viewing for Robert will be held Saturday December 17,2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Palm Memorial – Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street, Chowchilla, CA 93610. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday December 17, 2022, at the Chowchilla Cemetery, 23359 Rd ½, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
