August 31, 1940 - May 18, 2023
Margaret Sclimenti (nee Valenti), 82, of Chowchilla, California, passed away peacefully on May 18th, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where she met and married Joseph J. Sclimenti in 1961. Early years of their marriage consisted of establishing their careers, spending time with family, and vacationing every year in Miami Beach, Florida. They had two sons, Joey (1966) and Frankie (1969), before moving to the Bay Area in 1971. They lived in Cupertino, California, for 20 years, then moved back to Cleveland for 7 more years, before eventually settling in Chowchilla, California, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
Margaret was the epitome of the “stay-at-home mom”. She was a true homemaker, mother and wife, who worked quietly behind the scenes to give her family an exceeding quality of life. Our mother always put her family and those she loved first. Her care for others was second to none.
Margaret had a passion for life, and a radiant personality that touched everyone she knew. She had a way of uplifting your spirits, even in the worst of situations. Margaret was a natural problem solver and helped guide others to be the best in whatever they chose to do.
She loved cooking, and the holidays were filled with all her incredible homemade Italian dishes and desserts. Margaret enjoyed doing anything with her family, car rides, sitting in the sun and watching a baseball game or a good movie. She was always up to the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. Listening to music was something she passed on to her sons. She enjoyed a variety of music, ranging from Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, and the occasional Santana.
We will always remember how she made birthdays, anniversaries and holidays so very special, which were filled with her endless love and devotion. We will miss her presence, her laughter, but most of all, her love.
Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph J. Sclimenti, her parents, Frank and Rae Valenti, her sisters, Rozann (Anthony) Vannello, and Frances Discenza.
She is survived by her sons, Joey and Frankie (and his wife Tricia).
