Mary Louise (Hill) Buniel, age 85, of Chino Hills, CA, passed Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, CA. She was born March 1, 1931 in Piedmont, Wayne County, Missouri. She graduated from McKinley High School and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harris Teachers College in St. Louis, MO. She earned her Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She married Jacob Buniel, from Lihue-Kauai, Hawaii in 1954. Mary taught for over 30 years and served as Assistant Principal in the Hawthorne School District. She also served on the Christian Board of Education in Torrance, CA. and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mary and Jacob raised four children in Torrance, where they sponsored athletic and fine art programs such as AYSO, little league baseball, scouts, cultural dance and music. They inspired and enriched the lives of many friends and extended family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Goldie (Meador) Hill, sister Evaleen Gregory, brother, Charles Richard Hill and her husband Jacob.
Survivors include at the time of her passing: her children, Zane Buniel, Tara Buniel-LaDouceur, Terrence Buniel and Shawn Buniel; her sister Melba J. Meers, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing and funeral service in California: Saturday, November 12 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Community Church, Chino, CA.
Graveside service and interment will be on November 18, 2016 in the Austin Meador Cemetery near Piedmont, MO.
