Michael Devoid Tarlton Sr.

Mr. Michael Devoid Tarlton Sr. of China Grove passed away on December 1, 2011 at Big Elm Nursing Home. Born on December 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Devoid Cleveland Tarlton and Marie Barnhardt Mills and step parents Hardy Lee Mills and Willie Mae Tarlton. A graduate of China Grove High School, he was as member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. Earlier in life, he worked for Cannon Mills, Permaflex Southern, Walmart and sold insurance for Life and Cassualty Insurance Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children, Ryan Michael and Wendy Jo Tarlton.

Those left to cherish is memories is his wife of 35 years, Jeanne Wellmon Tarlton, sons James Tyler Tarlton, daugher Tracy Tarlton Brooks (David), both of China Grove and son Michael Dovoid Tarlton Jr. of Mooresville.

Brothers, Wayne Mills (Terry) of Raeford, Tommy Mills (Lisa) of Kannapolis, Ricky Mills (Debbie) of Kannapolis, Keith Tarlton (Krista) of Ashboro and Kelvin Tarlton (Kathy) of Randleman and sister Cynthia Mills Bost of South Carolina.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30 til 2:00 at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church with memorial service at 2:00 also at the church with Revs. Tommy Condor, and Susan German, ministers.
