Mrs. Betty Jo Cooper Lowe, age 86 of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at NOVANT-Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after a brief illness. Born July 2, 1934, Betty was the daughter of the late Alanzo Hoey and Gaynelle Cooper and was also preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Larry Edward Lowe and her brother, Billy Gene Cooper.
Betty spent most of her career working in cotton textiles and then in the nursing home setting. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved her favorite player, Derek Jeter. She loved watching game shows and enjoyed family gatherings. Her greatest love of all was her family. She ADORED her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending her time with them. And of course, she loved her pet chihuahua, Angel.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, William Larry Lowe (Sandra) and Richard Lowe (Dina) along with her daughter, Lori James. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Billy Lowe (fiance’ Brianna), Victor Lowe, Tommy Taylor, Kelly James, Holly Wilkerson (Rod), Aaron Lowe and her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Reuben, Jadon, Lacie, Sopia, Samuel, Matthew, Kaitlin, Ahmad, Lilly and Ava.
Visitation for Betty will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside service will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park immediately after officiated by Pastor Eddie Graham. The family has requested you kindly remember Betty with memorials in her honor to her favorite charity, The Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
