Russell A. Ally

We are sad to announce that on November 30, 2023 at 9:45 PM from Chilliwack, British Columbia we had to say goodbye to Russell Ally, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend. Russell passed from heart failure and a lung infection.

Russell was the oldest child born May 30th, 1935 to Acbar and Willamina Ally in Anmore, Guyana. He was blessed with 11 brothers and sisters. Russell married Isha in 1958 on December 27th. Together they had 5 children; Dolly, Ron, June, Cheryl and Ken. Russell was an experienced and skilled Heavy Duty Machine Operator. Russell left to work up in Northern BC which provided an opportunity to relocate his family in BC in 1971.

The family relocated in 1973 to Vancouver Island where Russell worked at Utha Mines and worked on the building of the highway from Gold River to Port Hardy.

Russell worked on the building of the Coquihalla highway and the Alex Fraser Bridge. Russell and Isha left for Toronto in 1987 where they stayed until 1998. They lived in Langley then moved to Chilliwack in 2019.

Russell truly loved animals, and especially loved all of the pets they had over the years. Russell always kept busy taking care of his home, and helping all of the kids with house sitting and taking care of family pets. Russell enjoyed watching and spending time with his kids, grandkids, family, and friends. He looked forward to family get-togethers.

Russell left behind his wife Isha of 65 years; his five Children and their spouses, Dolly and Paul, Ron and Elisabeth, June and Grant, Cheryl, and Ken; his Grandchildren, Dylan, Peter, Chris, Russell; his Great Grandchildren, Azalea, Jackson, Carter, Phoenix, Lucas, and Sawyer; his siblings, Ken, Edwin, Robin, Joan, Dennis, Jack, Cherri, Pam, and Donna; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Russell, known as “TAPPY” was a loyal friend and will always be remembered for his commitment and loyalty to his family and friends. Tappy had a wicked sense of humour and is known for his dance moves, excellent sense of style, and his love of animals. He took such good care of all of the family over the years.

Like Dad would say with love, “Toddlie Do” till the next time we see you.

A visitation for Russell will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Henderson's Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9. A reception will occur Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9.
