Kathleen will be sadly missed by her family. Beth, (her chief and major caregiver), Monique, Christine and Mitchell; she also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Kathleen was the “Big Sis” and leaves her Lil’ Bro Lewis (Manon) and Lil’ Sis Sheila (Len), and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sheilagh, her brother Robert and sister Eileen.
After leaving Ontario in 1971, Kathleen and her 5 children settled in the Chilliwack area where she volunteered on several committees with the Chilliwack Community Services. Eventually she obtained a secretarial position with School District #33. Kathleen’s nimble knitting needles were never idle. She generously made literally hundreds of toques for the newborns at the hospital. She also liked to travel and was fortunate enough to have visited many different countries. She solved many Sudoku puzzle books. Each Thursday she drove into town to the “Hair School” and kept her appointment, saw many young people being educated there through the years. She will be watching over us and keeping us safe, as she will never truly leave us. Her spirit will live on.
Thank you to ALL staff and friends at Heritage Village for making her last year enjoyable and comfortable. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chilliwack Community Services.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hendersonsfunerals.com for the MCINTYRE family.
