Our sweet Jenny passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, just two days shy of her 102nd birthday. Jenny was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a toddler with her parents, Mary and William Craig, and her younger brother and sister, John and Mary.
Jenny lived the majority of her life in Chilliwack where she attended Robertson School and landed her first job in a bank located at the Five Corners intersection. She subsequently worked for many years in the payroll department at the Chilliwack Army base from which she retired. Jenny was a gentle soul with an adventurer’s spirit. She traveled widely, journeying to Scotland, Hawaii, Alaska, Australia, the Caribbean, and Newfoundland, to name but a few.
Jenny is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Craig, and her sister Mary Herda. She is survived by her niece and nephew Penny Page and John Herda, who will miss her dearly, and her daughter Judith Scown-Geary. Her family would like to thank Maplewood House in Abbotsford for caring for Jenny in her later years.
