Donald Keith Morton

March 19, 1948 - February 18, 2017

Don Morton of Chilliwack, BC, formerly of Stony Plain, Alberta, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Hella; his sister, Sharon Falk of Camrose, Alberta; nephew, Ron Falk of Camrose; nieces, Sharie Falk of Lethbridge, Alberta, Sharlene (Danny) Drisdelle of Camrose, two great nieces Teagan and Meanne as well as the twins Colton and Maddison. Don is also survived by four aunts and numerous cousins and his faithful puppy, Teddy. Don also leaves a host of friends in Alberta and Country Park Village of Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Don was predeceased by his parents John and Sunny Morton, sister Sylvia, brothers-in law Ron Falk and Gerd Paetz, his mother-in law, Luise Stuehmer as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Don was also predeceased by his friend of almost 50 years, Peter Skiehar.

Don was born in Stettler, Alberta. The family moved to New Norway, Alberta where Don attended school. After graduating from high school, Don went on to become a licenced nursing orderly. In the late 70's, Don embarked in a new career path and started his apprenticeship to became a Funeral Director and Embalmer. Don found his niche in life and worked in that capacity until his retirement in 2011. He made many friends throughout his career because of his kindness, compassion, empathy and work ethics. He treated everyone with dignity and respect. Don will be sorely missed by his colleagues and friends within the Alberta Funeral industry which was a major part of this life for 35 years.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1 P.M. from Henderson’s Funeral Homes, Chilliwack, British Columbia.
