Thomas Joseph Scanlan age 81, of Clay City, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Effingham Illinois. Thomas was born in Chicago on October 9,1933 to Louis Thomas and Marguerite Elizabeth (Coleman) Scanlan. Mr. Scanlan is survived by his brother: Rev. Francis Gerald “Father Jerry” Scanlan of St. Damian in Oak Forest: his sister: Margaret Mary “Peg” Scanlan Olson of Chicago; nephews: Jerry Louis (Rae) Huber and Thomas (Danielle) Huber; a great niece and his great nephews: Ryan Huber, Jacqueline Huber and Nicholas Huber. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Eleanor Ann Scanlan Huber.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th from 2-9pm at Drake and Son Funeral Home 5303 N Western Ave. Chicago, 60625. A Funeral Mass will be held on October 5th, at 10:30am at St. Gregory the Great, interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorial donations will be accepted in the form of Mass Contributions.
