Beloved son of Bruno and Albina (nee Mozdziesz), cherished nephew and cousin, loving uncle, and a dear friend to many.
Tom was a dedicated health sciences educator, academic tutor, student advisor and recruiter for over 34 years at Truman College in Chicago. He worked in a variety of special services programming funded by the National Science Foundation and other grants. Recipient of City of Chicago’s 2009 Kathy Osterman Public Service Award as Outstanding Professional Employee for his exceptional commitment to Truman College and its students, Tom was also a member of Cook County Teachers Union 1600.
Passionate about fine wine and good food, books, golf, and Chicago Bears football, Tom was a master in the art of conversation. Along with his notable accomplishments and interests, Tom celebrated his role as a Founding Member of the Truman College Chapter of the Dull Men’s Club.
Equally dedicated to his parents and family who affectionately called him Tommy, he strove to model his Catholic faith in everyday life. His genuine kindnesses, thoughtfulness, encouragement, and Tom’s uniquely enriching company as a Renaissance man will be truly missed.
