Nayda Elizabeth Diaz

Nayda Elizabeth Diaz (nee Santana), age 71. Born May 28, 1948 in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico and passed away surrounded by her family July 19, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois. Beloved wife of Daniel Diaz Colon; loving mother of Maritza Diaz and Gladys (Juan Carlos) Gines, dear grandmother of Jacob and Jonathan Gines; devoted daughter of the late Inocencio and the late Antonia Santana; cherished sister of Mirtha Colon, Emma Estremera, Magda Huertas, and the late Nancy Rosario.

Nayda loved spending quality time with her family, taking care of her children and grandchildren, baking with her grandchildren, cooking for her family, knitting (she meant well), watching Julia Roberts and J Lo movies, completing word search puzzles, and gardening. We will miss most our mother’s selfless love, infinite compassion, eyes that see and understand what is never said enough: We love you mom! You will live forever in our hearts.

Memorial Visitation Sunday, July 28th 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home 6901 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago. Memorial Service to be held at 6 p.m. For information: 773-622-9300.
