John Winslow

John David Albert Winslow, age 65, loving partner of Ronald B. Hoiberg (deceased), father of Jenni Trafford (George) and Andrew Winslow (Lucy) and grandfather of Imogen and William Trafford and James Winslow, died suddenly on January 17, 2016, following a year of difficult medical issues. John was born in Romford, Essex, England and became a U.S. citizen in 2002. He spent his entire professional life in the grocery/hospitality/catering industry with experience as an executive chef, food service director, restauranteur, and caterer. He retired from Jewell Events Catering in 2015. He will be remembered for his extraordinary culinary and catering skills and generous hospitality to his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. A visitation will be held at the Drake and Son Funeral Home (5303 North Western Avenue) on January 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place at Church of the Atonement (5749 North Kenmore Avenue) on January 29, at 11:00 a.m., with interment following at Rosehill Cemetery.
