Elsie Colon

In loving memory of our mother Elsie Colon the daughter of Esmeraldo Colon and Juana Mares Melendez who was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. She moved to Chicago IL, at age 11, Where she lived and had 5 children Miguel Anderson, George Anderson, Milagros Roman, Gloria Colon, Maritza Cruz. Then in 2017, she moved to Winter Haven, Florida with her youngest daughter, Maritza Cruz and passed away on January 10th, 2024.

She was a loving and devoted mother, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family and others before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity, our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she has touched. But this time she moved for the last time with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Elsie that will be held on Monday, January 29th, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60646. A chapel service and prayers on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home. Following will be an Interment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 North Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, Illinois 60714.
