Carlos Javier Valdez

Charlie was born in Chicago on December 5, 1966, and born into eternity on January 17, 2022.

Charlie was the Loving Son of Lydia Valdez and the late Alfredo; Beloved Brother of Jose, Elsa, Gilbert, Raul, and Victor Valdez; Cherished Uncle of 2 nephews, and 4 nieces; Devoted Great-Uncle to 5 great-nephews, and 10 great-nieces; Dear Nephew to 5 Uncles, 3 of whom preceded him, and 5 Aunts, 1 of whom preceded him; Devoted Friend and Companion; Cherished Mentor to many work Colleagues.

Carlos was a man with a heart as big as the Sun. His love and devotion to his family, friends, and colleagues was genuine, huge, and never-ending. His sense of responsibility and patriotism led him to serve his country by enlisting in the Navy. He excelled in his duties, and that carried on into his civilian life. His smile and razor-sharp wit delighted and perplexed those fortunate enough to be close to him. His generosity was limitless; if you needed anything, he would do whatever he could to help. The range of his interests and knowledge surprised many people. Subjects like science-fiction, cooking, movie trivia, classic TV shows, music, card games and reading a good book (and Marvel Comics as well) were just a few of his interests. His love for his family always came through in the toughest of times. Family get-togethers were always a cherished event for him, and his presence will be missed. Those fortunate enough to have known him, will miss him as well.
