It is with great sadness and our deepest sorrows that we announce the death of Arlene Fayman (Majercik) from Chicago. Arlene died peacefully and painlessly on the morning of Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 at 88 years old.
Arlene was a devoted wife to Joseph Fayman (deceased) for more than 40 years and was a deeply loving – and deeply loved – mother of 5 children: Michael (deceased), Nancy, Terry, Mary, and Joe (Trish). She was the eldest of 4 siblings: Lydia (deceased), Ann (Deceased), and Johnny. Arlene is survived by her 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Due in large part to her profoundly gentle and caring personality, Arlene knew no shortage of love from her family and friends during her lifetime.
Arlene spent decades sharing her love and wisdom with all those who surrounded her. She taught her daughters bravery and independence; she taught her sons respect and tenderness. She lived her life as an example of all the traits she hoped her family would inherit, and each of us can only hope to become more like the person that she lived to be with every passing day.
Arlene was the pillar of strength that we all leaned on for years. She was a lighthouse, standing tall and guiding her family to safety and happiness. She was strong-willed and fiercely independent, but most importantly, Arlene was the matriarch of the Fayman Family. To say that she will be missed is a vast understatement, but we know that she will live on in our hearts forever and we will all carry on her legacy of love and happiness every day of our lives.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate Arlene’s life during a memorial service on Monday, September 24th, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Malec & Sons Funeral Home (6000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60646).
