Alex graduated high school, but then proceeded to keep a careful eye on his grandmother for the next ten years before she passed away. They were the best of friends. He walked his dog Cooper twice a day and was very well known in the neighborhood through those walks. Alex loved to go grocery shopping and cook. He was so good at cooking. Alex shared his moms love of hair dye.
Alex’s favorite holidays were Halloween and, of course, the 4th of July, because he loved fireworks and then we could also celebrate his birthday for two days.
Alex loved all sports and loved to attend many Cubs games. He loved to fish. We also attended many concerts with him. He was the absolute sweetest and such a gentle giant. Alex did have idiosyncrasies that were uniquely him. He was definitely a bit different but then aren’t we all!
Alex is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Marion Waldmann.
Alex left behind his parents, brother James (Shannon) - nephews and niece (Matthew Marley, Michael and Madison, brother Ross (Laurel), Aunt Patti and Eric (cousins Alan, Christine (Carmelo), Kyle and Marion, and Uncle Ken (cousins - like a brother Matt and Tess (Gianni, Koa, Akela and Aubrey).
A special thank you to everyone for all of the love, laughter and friendship that you have shown Alex.
