Wayne DeLembo, age 88, passed away May 26, 2024. Born March 28, 1936 in Cleveland, he lived in Willoughby Hills for the past 50 years. Wayne worked at Bailey Meter in Wickliffe for many years prior to retirement. He held various training positions including Regional Training Coordinator and Manager of Training. Wayne was a graduate of Brush High School in Lyndhurst and Capital University in Bexley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an active member of the American Legion for many years, once serving as Commander of the local post. For years Wayne was an active member of the Mentor Jaycees and also an active member of the Collinwood Memories up until his death. He loved golf, bowling, cooking, and traveling, and was a huge music fan, especially Neil Diamond. Wayne’s greatest love was being around family and friends, especially adoring his 3 great granddaughters. He had weekly lunches with his ‘gang’ over the years and in recent years, and stayed in touch with family by attending a ‘Cousins Lunch’ on a monthly basis. Wayne is survived by his son Mark (Bonnie) DeLembo; grandson Nick (Sharon) DeLembo; great-granddaughters Allison, Rebecca, and Amelia; brothers Louis (Doris) DeLembo and Carl (Michelle) DeLembo; brother-in-law Tom Withers; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara DeLembo; and parents Louis and Ida DeLembo. A Celebration of Life for Wayne will be held later this summer in July. Interment at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
