Marilyn E. Hoenigman (nee Roach) entered eternal life with her husband Jimmie on December 25, 2020 at her residence. Born in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Kirtland for over 50 years. Marilyn was known as “TEACHER” as she began her career at Notre Dame Montessori, teaching for 25 years. While teaching she attended Lakeland Community College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Marilyn graduated from Lakeland with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and became a Certified Montessori School Teacher. Marilyn was a parishioner of Divine Word Catholic Church in Kirtland. She enjoyed playing cards and loved cooking and baking for others, especially with the help from her granddaughter Shelby. Marilyn had a tremendous heart, loved to entertain, and always welcomed everyone into her home as if it were their own. She is the beloved wife of the late James; loving mother of Shane Elizabeth (Heath) Spence; devoted Alla of Shelby Elizabeth Spence; dear sister of Thomas (Betty) Roach, Jr., Judy Roach, Michael (Kathy) Roach, and the late Kathleen Grady; and cherished godmother of many. Marilyn is also survived by her incredibly loved nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland on Wednesday 5-8 pm.
