Virginia King Wilholt, 97 of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence King Cooper. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. Virginia served as an Army nurse during World War II. She was a longtime volunteer at Erlanger and Memorial Hospitals and the Senior Neighbors. She was a member of Kosmos Woman’s Club, the Postive Christian Singles of First Centenary United Methodist Church, the Tyner Tots, and the Women’s Veterans Network.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Wilhoit, son Charles Wilhoit.
Virginia is survived by her grandchildren Scott, Alice, and Jeff Wilhoit, great-grandchildren Kinsley Wilhoit, Lauren Delaney, Blake Delaney, and Paige Johnson, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Adam McKee officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Brainerd United Methodist Church.
