Sue Solomon Campbell, 94, of Chattanooga, TN (formerly of Shelbyville, TN) passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was born in Bedford County, TN on December 31, 1917. Mrs. Campbell was educated in Bedford County and attended college at both Middle Tennessee State University (then State Teachers College) and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. Sue Solomon married C.F. “Shorty” Campbell on October 7, 1939. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville and was employed by Sealtest Milk Producers and then Fly Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years in 2010 and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marion B. Solomon, Dallas, TX and Newcomb Greer “Buddy” Solomon, Shelbyville, TN. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Ed) Foster, Ooltewah; two grandchildren, Jenni (Tommy) Jones, Ooltewah and Christopher (Charlotte) Foster, Knoxville, TN; one great-grandson, Jackson Jones. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the excellent care given by Linda Gilley, Nena Mitchell, the CNA’s at Hickory Valley Retirement Center and Hospice of Chattanooga. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. David Graves officiating. The family will receive friends before the service on Wednesday from 12 noon till 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
