Sarah Louise Harden of Chattanooga, TN, was born September 15, 1934, to the union of Bobbie and Ned Lane and transitioned on September 7, 2023. A lifelong member of Allen Temple, AME Church, she served on the trustee board, choir, culinary and many other capacities.
Sarah was educated in the Chattanooga School System and employed with Erlanger Medical Center Emergency Department, and later with Chattanooga Orthopedic Associates. Sarah had a magnetic personality and a beautiful inspiring spirit. She was always ready to greet you with an infectious smile and inspiring words of wisdom.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncle, Annie and Joe Hardy, sister, Bobbie Mack, and son, Luther Peterson.
Sarah will be remembered by her remaining children, Jacquelyn (Gil) Akins, Kenneth (Rochelle) Harden Of Chattanooga Tn, Barbara Pratt, Alvin (Sue) Harden of Decatur Ga, and Daughter-in-law Mary Peterson. 13 Grandchildren: Tiffani (Phil) Barfield, Shondra (Antonio) Hines, Asia Ellison, Brandon Harden, Keith, Kaylon and Keila Peterson, Alysia and Monique Harden, all of Chattanooga; Jarian and Julian Peterson, Jasmine Pratt-Momon-Wilde, Sharnay Harden of Atlanta, Ga, Joya Jackson, and 35 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephew, Mary Wright and James Mack Jr., of Chattanooga, and Carol Piersaul of Warner Robins Ga. A host of cousins, great nieces, and nephews.
