Sandra Lee Gay Riddle, 74, of Apison, TN, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018. A native of East Point, GA, she has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 46 years. She was a retired Assistant Principal at Ridgeland High School and also had worked part time as a Dental Hygienist. She was a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and loved sewing and making quilts and clothes for her grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy Gay and was also preceded in death by her parents-in-law, John and Dorothy Riddle.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Riddle Jr., children, John T. (Kim) Riddle III, Christopher B. (Missy) Riddle and Michael S. (Marcelle) Riddle. Grandchildren, Hannah Riddle, Samuel Riddle, Cora Grace Riddle, Evelyn Dorothy Riddle, Wren Riddle and Kathryn Riddle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church with Father Jim Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and again on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at: alz.org or to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 7547 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
