“Although a musician by trade", Monty was also an avid collector of comics, toys, vinyl records, and items of Pop Culture. He was a proud graduate of East Ridge High School, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Covington Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Theology and a Doctorate of Ministry.
Monty served as a minister of music in several churches, enjoying the paths the Lord set for Him for many years. However, he was most proud of the work he did at Orange Grove Center in Chattanooga. While there, he taught music and directed a choir of wonderful individuals who became dear friends and brought joy wherever they performed.
Monty now joins his parents, Joe and Wilda Parks, in rejoicing before the Father.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Parks, son Joel Parks (Anna) Nashville, son Josiah Parks and daughter Emily Parks, Chattanooga, granddaughter Billie Dot Parks, Nashville, and brothers Michael Parks (Randie) of Cincinnati and Marty Parks (Vicki) of Mississippi.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating.
