Margaret was born to Forest Hughes and Bessie Mae Marshall Hughes in June 20, 1943. Margaret was a high school graduate of Booker T. Washington in 1961. Margaret retired from The Health Center at Standifer Place after 38 years of service. She was a member Krystal Club on Highway 58 and was a member of Berea Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Forrest L. Hughes Sr.; mother, Bessie M. Hughes; three brothers, Austin, Leonard, and James Hughes.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, James T. McClendon Jr.; children, Mark ( Kim) Colen, Jason Ansley, Victor Taylor, Zandra McClendon, Yolanda McClendon, Rhonda McClendon, Twanna Howard, Scherrie (Brian) Johnson, and James T. (Tanyall) McClendon III; two sisters, Mary Braswell and Louvenia Gordon; one brother, Michael Hughes and a host of Grandkids.
Margaret will Lie-in-State from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment to follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
