Elizabeth “Libby” Myers entered the gates of heaven on June 25, 2024. Libby was born on November 22, 1926, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Taylor and Cornelia Morton. Libby was strong in her faith and a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Libby was preceded in death by her first husband, Howell Dalton, son, Dr. Howell Dalton Jr, sisters, Kate Milstead and Maxine Towles and brothers, Ralph and Eugene Morton.
Libby is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dr. Robert W. Myers, daughter Delinda Davis (Lonnie) daughter-n-law, Tracie Calfee Dalton, brother Joe Morton (Joyce), stepchildren Bonnie Jane Peterson, Linda Kay Myers, Laura Jean Ross (Steve), grandchildren, Barron Williamson, DeLisa Morrow, April Rodman, Ashley Yarborough, George Dalton, Rebekah Kinsella (Dan), Christine van der Meer (Nic), Paul Peterson (Daniela), Charles Ross. Libby was also very proud of her great-grandchildren Jordan, Sharon, Landon, Brianna, Caiden, Libby, Trip, Jocelyn, Arjen, and Easton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Libby graduated from Central High School in 1944. She was a head drum majorette and cheerleader in high school.
Libby fulfilled her passion in banking that span 30 years. Libby was the first woman to become Secretary of SunTrust Finance Committee. Libby retired from SunTrust Banks in 1985 as Assistant Vice President. Libby once won the National prize for a trip to Hawaii from the National Association of Bank Women for gathering women to become officers in the Northeast Area of her territory.
Libby enjoyed her travels with her husband, Dr. Robert W. Myers throughout their life together. Libby was an avid golfer and spent a lot of her time enjoying golf with her friends. Libby dedicated much of her time to various organizations that included Tennessee Medical Association, National Association of Bank Women and The Order of the Eastern Star where she was once the Matron Order in McCaysville, GA. Libby also enjoyed time volunteering through the years. She was a volunteer at The Ronald McDonald House, Treasurer of the Red Cross, Little Theatre and Christ United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of life for Libby will be at 1pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in the funeral home with Rev. Fred Dearing officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
