Julia Lee Nichols

She was born to the late Bernice Bailey and Gilbert U. Nichols on August 11, 1943 in Chattanooga, TN. Julia grew up in and attended school in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Julia spent her teaching career at Ringgold High School.

She loved her friends, family, playing golf, and watching the Lady Vols. Julia was a member of the Brainerd Women’s Golf Association, where she served as President for several years. She also was a volunteer at Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center and supported several animal charities.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gilbert William (Nick) Nichols and her good friend, Carol Clark.

She is survived by her nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family requests donations to Julia’s favorite charity the ASPCA or an animal charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
