He was born in Chattanooga, TN and graduated from Red Bank High School in 1999. Jonathan then received his BS Degree from Bryan College in 2006. After graduation, he started working at Bryan College. For the past 16 years Jonathan devoted his life to serving at Bryan College. He loved Bryan College and Bryan College showed Jonathan the same love. The staff and students at Bryan College were his special family. Jonathan made so many wonderful lifetime friends and loved to host, entertain and cook for all occasions. The family wishes to express our gratitude to everyone at Bryan College who loved on Jonathan.
Jonathan attended New Union Baptist Church in Dayton, Tennessee. He loved his small group and cherished the times they met and shared about Jesus and life.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his Mother, Carolyn Sue Bacon; his grandparents, Willie and Myra Morgan and his Aunt Marilyn Simmons and Aunt Jewell Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Rebecca Bacon; his Aunt Debbie and Uncle Lebron Sterchi; Uncle Eddie Simmons and cousins, Stephen (Julianna) Simmons and Avery, Morgan Simmons; Aunt Billie Houston and several other cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Edwin Simmons and Pastor Jeremy Deal officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, TN with Shaphan Bates, Jordan Bates, Caleb Julin, Caleb Zimmerman, Austin Marsh, Matt Noel, Danny Dowling, Matt Williams and Curtis Bowery serving as Pallbearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Bryan College, Attn. Scholarship Fund, 721 Bryan Drive, Dayton, TN 37321.
