John Patton Raulston, 86, of Jasper, TN, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at his Chattanooga Residence. He was the son of the late William Patton and Helen Deakins Raulston and was preceded in death by his wife Jacquelyn Raulston.
John was a mechanical and electrical engineer. He served as an electrician mate PO2 on the USS Benjamin White Norris DDE 859 during the Korean War. He was a member of Tyner Church of Christ, The Lions Club, and past President of the Collegedale Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Survivors include his son Ltc (Ret.) John P. Raulston Jr. and his wife Cynthia Raulston; granddaughter, Sela E. Raulston, all of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Mary Burroughs, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel with Minister John Cupp officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
