John Terry “T.C.” Claiborne, 72, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was the owner of Malibu Tanning Salon for many years and was a volunteer football coach at Tyner Academy for 20 years. He also loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Claiborne and a brother, Michael S. Claiborne.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Claiborne; two daughters, Stephanie Claiborne, Chattanooga and Shelly Claiborne, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; two sisters, Cynthia Holland, Morristown, TN and Suzanne Henry, Chattanooga; two brothers, Bruce Claiborne, Dandridge, TN and Brent Claiborne, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Laverle Coats officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2 p.m. Saturday before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
