Janice Q Powell

She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Clara Quinn and was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Powell, three brothers, Chester, James, Lee Quinn and a sister, Evelyn Quinn.

Janice retired from Catawba Valley Medical Center after 30 years of service.

She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Sydney Powell, of Newton, NC., two grandchildren, Cutie Vera Marie Powell, Christopher Avery Powell, both of Hickory, NC., three sisters, Betty Jean Quinn, of Cleveland, TN., Jane Quinn (Will) Berry, of Clemmons, NC., Jawnese Quinn Sloop, brother, Denward (Ann) Quinn, both of Ooltewah, TN., and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2011, at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the funeral home.
