Mr. Morgan was born and raised in Chattanooga and was a graduate of City High School Class of 1959. James was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, served in the youth department and worked with World Changers. He retired from Milligan-Reynolds Guaranty Title Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Robbie Morgan; sister, Joyce; and brother, Barney Wayne.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 55 years, Judy Morgan; son, Jamie Morgan; daughter, Julie (Jamison) Chambers; grandson, Austin (Ashlee) Chambers; granddaughter, Ashlee Jordan Chambers; caregiver, Stephen Jones; sisters, Judy (John) Faulkner, Janice (Doug) Aiken, Jeannie (Wayne) Cox, Jane (John) Killian; sister-in-law, Margaret Morgan; brothers, Dickie Morgan and Guerry (Tina) Morgan; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Visitation will be from 10 to 2 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Brainerd Baptist Church, 300 Brookfield Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37411. Funeral Services will follow at 2 PM at the church with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating.
Private graveside services will be at a later date.
