He was a 1942 graduate of Polk County High School , attended Georgia Technology University and graduated from the University of Chattanooga with a degree in business.
Mr. Park and his wife Leona owned and operated Park Custom Furniture in Ringgold, Georgia. He previously worked for Fowler Brothers Furniture and co-owned McGloughlin Furniture Manufacturing Company. He is a veteran of WW II serving with the Army in the South Pacific. He also served with Gideon's International and was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church where he taught the Open Door Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Leona Cheek Park, son Michael Henry Park, brother Willard Park, sister Mary Francis Park, son-in-law Robert D. Baker and grandson Robbie Baker.
Survivors include his daughter Susan P. Phillips (David), son J Franklin Park, Jr. ( Cynthia), son Joseph A. Park, seven grandchildren and six great-grand children.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 28, at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home 8214 East Brainerd Road.
The family will receive family and friends from 11 A.M. To 2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
