He was born in Rahway, NJ to Ralph Paul Decicco and the late Rosalie Ann Kroger DeCicco. Greg attended grammar and middle school in Barrington, IL and graduated from Ooltewah High School.
He worked at Office Depot while going to college at UTC, earning his Bachelor of Arts in English. Greg had a desire to tach and did his student teaching at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, TN. He then changed his focus in life and returned to UTC, graduating this time with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He then began his career with Mueller Water Products in Chattanooga, TN for four years. Greg then moved to Lamberti Chemical Research, based in Rome, Italy. His experience gradually moved him to become a Supervisor, a major company shift for him, lasting over 12 years.
Greg was a benevolent minded individual who would help anyone in need. He was a huge animal lover and his favorite quote was “abuse an animal…go to jail”. Gregory was an active supporter of Ooltewah High School, UTC, the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Chattanooga (Red Wolves) Soccer team. Greg was a co-season ticket holder for over 10 years with the Atlanta Falcons Football Club.
His real “hidden talent” was his love for the Arts. Greg painted semi-professionally while studying at the Chattanooga Art Studios. Some of his works are held by his family and friends, but his real ambition was to emulate his great affection for the Marvel Action Heroes. Greg had created a series of Hero’s, with one of his main Heroes named Siegfried, and his first 10 page short story, Siegfried Reborn, was printed in 1990. He was a very articulate, creative, studious, benevolent and hard-working individual. Greg will be missed terribly by his loving family and by all those who came into his life as his friends.
