Geneva Walraven Smith

Geneva worked as the accountant for J Avery Bryan Funeral Home, before it become Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, Franklin- Strickland Chapel on McCallie Ave. She was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ. Geneva was a former girl scout leader, volunteer for United Way and attended Ringgold Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, canning, making jelly, sewing, working with her flowers. Geneva enjoyed camping with her family, when the girls was younger. She loved working word puzzles. Geneva graduated Dalton High School class 1953 and then University of Chattanooga with a B.S. degree in accounting, 1985.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband Spencer A Smith; daughter Karen Robertson; grandson Allen Lawrence Rucker;parents Gordon and Franklie Rogers Walraven; brothers Gordon Jr., James, Wayne and Ronald; sisters Kathryn, Rose and Linda; son-in-law Lawrence Rucker Sr.

Geneva is survived by daughter Kimberly Smith Rucker of Ringgold, GA; grandson Aaron ( Anna) Hightower of Richmond Hill, GA; great granddaughter Maggie Hightower of Richmond Hill, GA; great grandson Julian Hightower of Richmond Hill, GA; grandson Lawrence ( Stephanie) Rucker of Bristol.,TN; lots of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Geneva will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404. A visitation will occur Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A Celebration of Life will occur Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A graveside service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
