Barbara Louise Jackson

She was a recent resident of Whitwell, TN for about 2 years; previously, she resided in Saint Elmo since 1998. Barbara worked with her husband maintaining the lawns of many around the Chattanooga area, cemeteries grounds, and cleaned several houses on Lookout Mountain. She did all this while still maintaining her own home. Barbara was a member of Kelly's Ferry Community Church.

Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Jackson; father, Crawford Merriman; mother, Genita Lowry; beloved grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Kailie Harwood, and Anastasia Worley.

Survivors include daughters, Angie Johnson, Tonia Holland, and Teresa Wooten; step-daughter, Tina Jackson-Hillman; son, Frank Johnson; sister, Polly Self; brothers, Richard Merriman and Leon Merriman; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; plus many more loved family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Kelly's Ferry Community Church, 11612 Mullins Cove Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397, with Jessie Plott officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to further the study of diabetes or to your local orphanage. Helping others that are less fortunate than us was important for Barbara and will honor her memory greatly.
