Raymond Donald Duarte

Raymond Donald Duarte Jr. ("Joe"), 61, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Donald Duarte Sr., his mother Patricia (Marsh) Duarte, and his son Christopher Lee Duarte. He is survived by his son Joey Raymond Duarte and granddaughter Cassandra Lily Duarte. He is also survived by 2 sisters (Carol and Cindy), 2 brothers (Manny and Danny), and multiple nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, March 18 at Nickerson Funeral Home 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA 02633 with a private burial later.

Joe was born in Chatham in 1957, the second of five siblings. He attended Chatham High School. He was a longtime landscaper in Chatham and later worked at Flanagan Furniture in Dennis. He also lived in Bourne, Harwich, Dennis, and Wareham. Joe had a passion for reading and would devour books of any kind, a trait that he passed on to his sons and granddaughter. Joe was a hard worker and a kind man, always willing to help his family. His granddaughter was his pride and joy and he enjoyed being the subject of her "traps". He loved dogs, and owned and trained many throughout his life. Although he tended to keep to himself, he touched many people and will always be remembered fondly.
