Mary Manley

Mary Donoghue Manley (85yrs) of North Chatham formerly of West Springfield, MA passed away on Wednesday October 7, 2015 after a short illness.

The daughter of Timothy and Laura (Madden) she was born in Boston, MA on May 11, 1931. She and her family began vacationing in West Harwich in 1955 and settled to Chatham in 1997.

She is survived by husband William and son Mark of Scitutate, MA; Brother Laurence Donoghue of San Antonio, TX; Sister Barbara MacKinnon (deceased Neil MacKinnon) of Wayland ,MA; Sister-in-law Nancy Donoghue (deceased brother Timothy) of Dublin, OH; Sister Marguerite Gilfoil and husband George of South Portland, ME ;15 neices and nephews and 27 grand nieces and nephews.

She went to Boston Latin High School and Emmanuel College then worked at the West Springfield School system.

Former organizations: Chatham Womans Club; Friends of the Eldredge Library; Emmanuel College Alumnae;CONCH; Monomoy Theatre Friends; Wychmere Harbor Club; Hyannis Yacht Club; and Creative Arts Center.

Mary loved the sunny beaches and breezy salt air of Cape Cod. She especially enjoyed the varied fine restaurant, talented painters and artists, and the live theatre productions of Monomoy Theatre and the Cape Playhouse. Mary was known for her generous spirit and concern for others.

Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Tuesday, October 13th at 10am.
