She was born on July 9, 1935, on her parents’ farm near El Dorado Springs, MO, the daughter of Orvis and Pearl (Bower) Tuder. She married Jack Ruebush on November 14, 1970, in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2020.
Bonnie was born and grew up on a farm southeast of El Dorado Springs, MO. Here, she attended a rural school, then graduated from El Dorado Spring High School in 1953. She worked at Dunhill Shirt Company from 1954 to 1963. Bonnie then attended Ozark Bible College in Joplin, MO, graduating in 1967. She moved to Monmouth, IL, working in a Christian church. In 1969, she began to work for the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health, at Galesburg State Research Hospital. In 1985, when GSRH was closing, she and her husband moved from Galesburg to Chatham. They both retired at the end of 1991 from McFarland Mental Health Center. Bonnie became a Christian on October 20, 1946, and was a member of Chatham Christian Church. She played and taught music for much of her life and often used that God-given gift at her church. She also loved working with the babies and small children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Ruebush; sister, Bessie; and brother, Glenn
Bonnie’s life will be remembered at a memorial service for Bonnie at 9:15 on Sunday, July 21, 2024, during the worship service at Chatham Christian Church in Chatham.
