Shirley Ann Shifflett of Boonesville, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Albemarle Health and Rehabilitation Center from a massive stroke at 1:00pm.
She was born on December 6, 1949 in Albemarle County. The daughter of the late, Reuben Davis Garrison and Polly Frazier Garrison. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Rubin Monroe Garrison, Floyd A. Garrison and Davis E. Garrison.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Leroy Shifflett. She had a special bond with all of Davis’ and Edith’s five children, Diane Horner, Karen Wood, Beverly Ellinger, Gary Garrison and Lois Chapman. She had several great nieces and nephews and also many cousins.
Shirley spent much of her time employed by State Farm Insurance Company. After working for many years with State Farm she retired. Shirley valued church, attending religiously every Sunday to Lake Road Church of God, where she would sing gospel songs with both of her brothers. She really loved the Lord and her entire church family. Shirley loved her whole family and spending time with them.
The family will receive family and friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 at the Lake Road Church of God, 2375 Lake Albemarle Rd. Charlottesville, VA 22901. Shirley’s beloved pastor, Brian Cadle will hold a Funeral Service at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Lake Church of God. Immediately following Shirley will be laid to rest at Prize Hill Cemetery, 3291 Boonesville Rd. Free Union, VA 22940.
